Calendly integration
Connect Calendly so Dover sees the interviews candidates book, then choose the event type and turn on reminders.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”If your interviewers use Calendly for booking, connect it to Dover. Dover then sees what candidates book on Calendly, keeps track of each interview, and can send reminder emails. Each interviewer connects their own Calendly account. The setup has three steps: connect Calendly, choose the event type candidates book, and decide whether Dover sends reminders.
Connect Calendly
Section titled “Connect Calendly”- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Click Calendly.
- Click Connect Calendly. A Calendly window opens.
- Sign in to Calendly and approve the connection.
- Back in Dover, you see Connected as and your Calendly email.
Choose the event type
Section titled “Choose the event type”After you connect, Dover asks you to choose which event type candidates book.
- Click Choose event type, or go to Account settings → Interviews & Notetaker.
- Under How candidates will book interviews, choose the third-party link option.
- Under Booking tool, choose Calendly. The other choice, Other link, lets you paste any booking link instead.
- Under Event type, choose the event type. Dover shows each one with its length.
Dover shows Candidates will book this event type when it’s saved. In Calendly, turn on Check for conflicts in your calendar settings so candidates can’t book over events on your calendar.
Reminder emails
Section titled “Reminder emails”Turn on Reminder emails in Account settings → Interviews & Notetaker to have Dover send a reminder to you and the candidate, 1 day and 1 hour before the interview.
If your Calendly plan sends its own reminders, turn those off in Calendly first, so candidates don’t get two. In that case, Dover asks you to select I turned off Calendly’s reminders before you can turn Dover’s on.
Reconnect or disconnect
Section titled “Reconnect or disconnect”If Calendly stops syncing, Dover shows Calendly was disconnected. Reconnect to keep syncing. Click Reconnect Calendly. To stop using the integration, click Disconnect.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”What does Dover do with my Calendly bookings?
Section titled “What does Dover do with my Calendly bookings?”Dover records each booking on the candidate’s profile. It uses the booking to move the candidate along, prompt interviewers for feedback, and send reminders. Because a booking can change in Calendly without Dover being told, Dover checks with Calendly that a booking still stands before it acts on it.
Does each interviewer need to connect Calendly?
Section titled “Does each interviewer need to connect Calendly?”Yes. Each interviewer connects their own account and chooses their own event type.
Can Dover reschedule a candidate booked on Calendly?
Section titled “Can Dover reschedule a candidate booked on Calendly?”No. Dover follows what happens in Calendly, but candidates reschedule and cancel in Calendly. See Setting up your interview preferences.
What if I use a different booking tool?
Section titled “What if I use a different booking tool?”Choose Other link and paste your booking link. Dover can’t see what candidates book with other tools, so track those interviews yourself. See Scheduling candidates.
What do I do if the connection says it’s disconnected?
Section titled “What do I do if the connection says it’s disconnected?”Click Reconnect Calendly in Settings → Integrations, and approve the connection again.
