Sourcing candidates
Set up an outreach campaign, then source candidates one at a time, from a CSV, or from LinkedIn.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Sourcing is how you find candidates yourself and email them from Dover. Open a job and click its Sourcing tab. The tab has two parts: Campaigns, where you write the outreach emails and follow-ups, and Leads, where the candidates you source appear. To keep in touch with people across all your jobs, see CRM.
Set up an outreach campaign
Section titled “Set up an outreach campaign”A campaign defines who the email comes from, what it says, and any follow-ups. You need an active campaign to source a candidate.
Connect your email
Section titled “Connect your email”Campaigns send from a connected email account. If you see To send campaigns, your email must be connected to Dover, follow the link in the banner to connect it, or go to Account settings → Email Connection.
Create a campaign
Section titled “Create a campaign”- Open the job and click its Sourcing tab, then click Campaigns.
- Click + Campaign.
- Enter a Campaign Name.
- Under Who will send outreach emails, choose Hiring manager or Someone else on my team. If you choose a teammate, pick them from the list. The teammate must have connected their email in Dover.
- Create the campaign, then click Edit campaign to write it.
Edit a campaign
Section titled “Edit a campaign”Click Edit campaign on a campaign to change its name, sender, subject, and email body. Click + Followup to add a follow-up email that is sent when a candidate doesn’t reply. You can turn follow-ups on or off and choose when each one is sent.
Use Duplicate to copy a campaign, or Delete to remove it. If a campaign has already sent messages, changing its sender affects any follow-ups that are still waiting to send.
Turn a campaign on
Section titled “Turn a campaign on”In the Campaigns table, use the Status switch to turn a campaign on. A campaign must be active before you can source a candidate with it. The table also shows each campaign’s Title, who Started by it, and its Total contacted.
Source candidates
Section titled “Source candidates”There are three ways to source. Each candidate you source is added to the job’s Leads tab, and Dover sends them your campaign’s emails.
Source one candidate
Section titled “Source one candidate”- On the Campaigns tab, find an active campaign and click Source candidate.
- Choose Single candidate.
- On Candidate details, enter the First name and Last name.
- Answer Do you have the candidate’s email?. Choose Yes and enter it, or choose No (find it for me) and enter the candidate’s LinkedIn URL. Dover looks up an email address.
- Click Next to open Preview and send email.
- Edit the message if you want, and click Send.
Source many candidates from a CSV
Section titled “Source many candidates from a CSV”- On the Campaigns tab, find an active campaign and click Source candidate.
- Choose Multiple candidates.
- Drag and drop your CSV file, or click to select it. Click Download Sample CSV if you need a template.
- Dover checks the file and shows how many candidates are valid and any errors. Fix errors in your file and upload it again.
- Click Upload, which shows how many candidates it will add.
Your CSV needs First Name, Last Name, and Email. LinkedIn URL is optional. Bulk uploads can take some time, depending on the file size, and you can’t edit the message for each person.
