Candidate profiles

Find your way around a candidate's profile: their details, activity, resume, files, and the stage and status card.

A candidate’s profile is where everything about them lives: their details, resume, application answers, emails, interviews, feedback, notes, and files. Open one by clicking Search in the left sidebar, or by clicking a candidate on the Candidates tab or in Applicants. The profile has three parts: the candidate’s details on the left, their activity in the middle, and the stage and status card on the right.

The left side of the profile holds the candidate’s information.

Section What it holds
Name and star The candidate’s name. Click the star to star them so you can find them again.
Headline and location A short headline and where they’re based. Click + Headline or + Location to add them.
Contact Their email addresses and phone numbers. Click Add New to add one. Choose Set as primary for the one Dover should use, or Delete to remove one.
Profile links Their LinkedIn profile and other links. Click the pencil icon to add or change them.
Tags The tags on the candidate. Click Add tag… to add one. See Candidate tags.
Source How the candidate came to you, such as a referral or outreach. It shows who referred them when there is one. Click Edit source to change it.
Share candidate portal A link the candidate can use to follow their progress. See Candidate portal.

The middle of the profile is the candidate’s history. Use the buttons across the top to filter it:

Filter What it shows
All Activity Everything, in order.
Emails Every email between the candidate, your team, and Dover. See Emailing candidates.
Interviews Scheduled and past interviews, with options to reschedule. See Scheduling candidates.
Resume The candidate’s resume, and a switch to Application Questions for their answers to your application form.
Files Files added to the candidate, such as a portfolio. Drag and drop to add one. Click View or Download to open a file, or Delete to remove it.
Interview Feedback Feedback from interviewers, including the Overall rating. When AI Notetaker is on, it shows whether AI notes available or AI notes processing. See Interview feedback forms.
Notes Notes your team posted. See Candidate notes.

For a candidate in the Applied stage, the profile opens on the Resume filter, because there isn’t much activity yet.

Stage changes, status changes, and moves to another job name the teammate who made them. A change Dover made itself says Dover.

The card on the right is where you move the candidate forward.

  • Job: The card names the job. Click it to open the job.
  • Stage and status: Dropdowns to move the candidate to another stage, set a substage, or change their status. See Candidate actions.
  • Buttons: Buttons such as Draft email, Schedule Interview, Add feedback, and Mark as scheduled, depending on the stage. At the Offer stage, you can create and manage the offer. See Offers.
  • Candidate actions menu: The three dots open Move jobs, Snooze, and Delete candidate.

A banner shows when a candidate is Rejected, Withdrew, or Snoozed, with the reason. To bring a snoozed candidate back, choose to un-snooze them. They become active again.

If the same person is on another job, the card lists their other profiles. When Dover thinks you have a duplicate, a banner says This might be the same person as and the other candidate’s name. Click Preview & Merge to combine them. See Candidate actions.
