CRM

Search everyone who has applied or been added to your jobs, and keep in touch with outreach campaigns.

Click CRM in the left sidebar to see everyone in Dover across all your jobs, with the most recently active first. Use the People tab to search, filter, and email people. Use the Campaigns tab to build outreach sequences that keep in touch with them, even when they aren’t tied to a job.

The People tab lists each person once, even if they applied to more than one job. The tab shows how many people you have.

  • Search: type a name, email, or keywords in the search bar. To combine keywords, see Boolean search.
  • Filter: click the filter button to narrow the list by Job, Campaign, Status, or Tags. Status can be Active, Withdrew, Hired, Rejected, or Snoozed.
  • Sort: order the list by Newest, Oldest, Name, or Applications.

Combine keywords with AND, OR, NOT, quotes, and parentheses to find people by skills or experience. For example, ("data scientist" OR "data analyst") AND python finds data scientists and data analysts who also know Python.

Type the operators AND, OR, and NOT in uppercase. In lowercase, Dover treats “and”, “or”, and “not” as ordinary words.

Operator What it does Example
AND Finds people who match every term engineer AND python
OR Finds people who match any of the terms designer OR illustrator
NOT Leaves out people who match the term after it manager NOT intern
" " Finds an exact phrase, with the words next to each other "product manager"
( ) Groups terms so they’re combined first ("data scientist" OR "data analyst") AND python

Words separated only by a space are combined with AND, so senior python is the same as senior AND python. When a search mixes operators, Dover reads quotes first, then parentheses, then NOT, AND, and OR. For example, python OR java AND spring finds people who know Python, plus people who know both Java and Spring. To require Spring for both, type (python OR java) AND spring.

Dover matches common forms of a word, so engineer also finds “engineers” and “engineering”. Wildcards such as *, brackets, and the + and - signs aren’t supported. Use AND instead of + and NOT instead of -.

A Boolean search covers resumes, uploaded documents, application answers, names, and emails across all your jobs. People without a resume or application on file don’t appear in the results.

Click a person to see every application they have made, including the stage each one reached and any interview scorecards. Use it to remember how someone did before you reach out again.

On a person’s application, click Draft email to write to them in Dover. See Emailing candidates.

A CRM campaign is a sequence of emails you can run on anyone in your CRM. Unlike the outreach campaigns on a job’s Sourcing tab, a CRM campaign isn’t tied to a job. Use it to keep silver medalists warm, share new openings, or follow up with past applicants.

  1. Click CRM in the left sidebar, and click the Campaigns tab.
  2. Click + Campaign.
  3. Under Campaign name, enter a name, such as “Q4 engineering nurture”. Names must be unique.
  4. Under Who will send the emails, choose who the emails come from. Emails send from that person’s connected inbox, and a reply stops the follow-ups automatically.
  5. Click Create campaign.

See Permissions.

  1. On the Campaigns tab, click the campaign.
  2. Write the messages, including any follow-ups.
  3. Turn the campaign on. Only an active campaign sends emails.

You can add one person at a time from the People tab:

  1. Click the person to open their application.
  2. Click Add to campaign.
  3. Under Campaign, choose a CRM campaign, and confirm.

To add many people at once, use bulk actions.

You can act on many people at once. Select the people you want in the list, then open the Bulk actions menu:

Action What it does
Add to campaign Enrolls everyone you selected in a CRM campaign.
Draft email Starts one email to the people you selected.
Add tags Adds tags to the people you selected.
Remove tags Removes tags from the people you selected.

Each action shows how many people it will apply to. See Candidate tags and Bulk actions.

Everyone who has applied to your jobs or been added to them, across all jobs. People appear once candidates apply or are added to a job.

What’s the difference between a CRM campaign and a job’s outreach campaign?

Section titled “What’s the difference between a CRM campaign and a job’s outreach campaign?”

A job’s outreach campaign, on the job’s Sourcing tab, contacts new leads for that job. A CRM campaign works on anyone in your CRM and isn’t tied to a job. See Sourcing candidates.

Yes. When a person replies, Dover stops sending that campaign’s follow-ups.

Bulk actions need ATS Premium. If you don’t have it, Dover shows an upgrade message when you try one. See dover.com/pricing for what each plan includes.

Why can’t I send a campaign as a teammate?

Section titled “Why can’t I send a campaign as a teammate?”

Sending as a teammate needs ATS Premium, and you need access from Settings → Members. See Send emails as a teammate.

On the People tab, use the filter button and choose the campaign under Campaign.

Why does my search return different people once I add AND, OR, or NOT?

Section titled “Why does my search return different people once I add AND, OR, or NOT?”

A plain search matches names, emails, tags, and resume keywords. Once you add an operator, quotes, or parentheses, the CRM runs a Boolean search instead. See Boolean search.

Why doesn’t my search use the operators I typed?

Section titled “Why doesn’t my search use the operators I typed?”

Dover only recognizes AND, OR, and NOT in uppercase. Type them in capital letters, for example designer OR illustrator.
